Unus Sed Leo (LEO) is the official cryptocurrency of iFinex and subsidiaries. iFinex is a large, privately owned financial technology company based in the British Virgin Islands and operates digital asset trading platforms under the business name of Bitfinex. Unus Sed Leo (LEO) is the utility token within the iFinex ecosystem which allows Bitfinex users to save money on trading fees. The more LEO, a user has in his account, the higher the discount they receive on their fees. iFinex's company motto is Unus Sed Leo, deriving from the Latin citation of Aesop's fable "the Sow and the lioness." The legend represents the core ethos of the iFinex company emphasising quality over quantity.
LEO was created after Crypto capital, the company that processed iFinex's payments, had its funds seized by the government. To cover the financial shortfall, iFinex launched the LEO token with plans to gradually buy back the token from investors, with the profits from iFinex's various subsidiaries, until none are left circulating. An initiative that would be exercised transparently, with anyone in the crypto community able to see the company's progress in repurchasing its LEO token.
