Injective Protocol was first launched in 2020, two years after Eric Chen and Albert Chon founded the project in 2018. Injective is a decentralized exchange which provides both spot and derivates asset pairs for users to trade. The network was built on the Ethereum Virtual Machine using layer-2 technology and is based on the Cosmos SDK.
By doing so, Injective achieves scalability, low fee’s and fast transaction times while also providing solutions to collision and front running. The native currency of Injective is the INJ token which can be used for staking, governance, to pay transaction fee’s and as collateral for derivates assets. The INJ token had initial supply of 100,000,000 with an initial inflation rate of 7% which will decrease over time to a fixed 3%.
